I really thought Davenport was going to win this match initially. Because Serena injured her back before the 3rd round of this tournament, so I thought she was going to lose every match after the back injury though I still had hope that she would win. She really amazed me in this tournament, to win while being injured against quality opponents is so hard to do but Serena found a way. Because of how pure Davenport's ground strokes are and how consistent she can be and her tennis smarts, I wanted Serena to win but she was up against an experienced quality opponent so I thought that maybe she didn't have anything left. But Serena really showed me in this match that her will to win against all odds is 2nd to none.
